Bead «Diamond Rustication».

Diamond rustication in architecture is the name for a method of treating façade blocks in the form of polyhedra resembling a cut diamond. For example, in Moscow the wall of the Palace of Facets is covered with such rustication. Thanks to the play of light and shadow on the smooth faces, rusticated walls look more festive and majestic. But not only architectural structures are decorated with such faceted forms. A similar pattern can often be found on ceramic tableware or metal items. On a rounded surface such faceted relief plays with highlights at the slightest turn, creating a wonderful decorative effect.
