The bead is framed by the prayer «Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner». This prayer is considered a perfect prayer because it carries the fundamental truths of our salvation. It contains an appeal to our Lord, an acknowledgment of human sinfulness and a plea for repentance. The words of the prayer are surrounded by the «Byzantine flower» ornament. According to traditional plant symbolism, the «Byzantine flower» symbolizes a heart blossoming with love for the Lord. This holy feeling gives life to human hearts, weaving them together with each other, with the saints, with Jesus Christ and His Most Pure Mother.
