The precious enamel bead is made in a lush and regal style. Among the branches it depicts birds with luxurious curling tails and large wings. These are the mythological Firebirds. In the Slavic tradition this was the name for the Phoenix. It is a fiery bird whose feathers gleam with silver and gold, shimmer like gemstones, its wings are like tongues of flame, and its eyes shine like crystals. Mythologists explained the Firebird as the personification of fire, light, the sun and rebirth. It is also the mystical, magical Bird of Happiness that lives in a wondrous heavenly garden.
