The Kazan Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos has always been venerated as the protector of the country and of every person. It is especially venerated as a helper in family troubles and a healer in illnesses. On the reverse of the pendant is written a prayer: "Rejoice, O Virgin Theotokos, Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee! Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, for thou hast borne the Savior of our souls." The pendant is adorned with an elegant floral ornament and complemented below by a charm in the form of the Star of the Mother of God (the Star of Bethlehem).
