The icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker "of Cape Horn" was painted by the Russian traveler and archpriest Fyodor Konyukhov during his round-the-world yacht voyage, while rounding Cape Horn in 2008. In the icon, the saint holds Cape Horn in his right hand and a ship in his left. Carrying an icon of St. Nicholas, the patron of travelers, is a tradition among Christians setting out on a long journey, whether by sea or by land, for prayer to St. Nicholas is credited with many miracles.
