Blessed Matrona was blind from birth, but was given by the Lord a special gift of spiritual sight and clairvoyance. She saw people's fates and healed illnesses through prayer. Even beyond the grave, the saint continues to help all who need her, which is why believers lovingly call her "Matronushka." On the reverse of the pendant is written a prayer: "O blessed Mother Matrona, look now with your merciful eye upon us sinners, who spend our days in sorrows, illnesses and sinful temptations, and console us."
