At the centre of the cross is the Crucifixion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, attended on either side by Saints Constantine and Helena, who found the Cross of Christ. Below is the image of St Panteleimon the Healer. Above the Crucifixion rises God the Father, surrounded by the angels of heaven.
The reverse of the cross reveals the images of warrior saints.
At the centre is the Archangel Michael, and on either side of him the grand princes Yaroslav the Wise and Alexander Nevsky. In the lower part is St Demetrius of Thessaloniki, the holy Great Martyr who brought many people to the Christian faith.
Above the saints rises the image of the Mother of God "of the Sign". Her hands raised in prayer signify Her intercession for mankind before God, Her prayer for the world.
